2010, Doctor Who

So the new season of Doctor Who started last Saturday in Britain, and while most fans will probably download it on the net, it does not start on BBC America until April 17, so the US will be 2 episodes behind. I must say I am very impressed so far, never mind the fact that this new regeneration seems to be sort of an ass, not that we havn’t seen that before ,William Hartnell’s Doctor, as well as John Pertwee were both about as asshole Doctor as they come. David Tennant was the man, but noone will beat the craziness of Tom Baker, that said I believe Matt Smith might be a decent mix of wacky and hardass, which being the last of the time lords for a good period of time now I would say hardass was inevitable.

The Eleventh Hour was a bit wild but all said and done, the imaginary friend story line has really grabbed my attention, especially the scene where the Doctor tells off the Atraxi and they jet was just wonderful, showing past enemies, past Doctors, it was brilliant. The new TARDIS design looks magnificent as well, I am definitely liking the newer look, maybe he will not have to beat the thing to death with a hammer now! Hopefully we will get a look into a few more rooms within the TARDIS finally, and it does look easier to handle. I am slightly curious however, it kind of seemed as though he did not want Amy to see that he was analyzing the crack in time. Or maybe that is just me. Still, GREAT episode!

As I am writing I have just watched the Beast Below, and I must say while it was a great episode, I was not GREATLY impressed. I thought it was a nice episode, but missing something, a certain spark that I cannot put my finger on. However I did completely love the attitude that the Doctor gives Amy. Go figure something out, get out of my face I have stuff to do too. Then the whole “You do not get to decide what I know…” was wonderful!I cannot wait for the next episode, and for all those knocking it because of Matt Smith… yea, he isn’t David Tennant, get over it. Yes David was a great Doctor, but it is about the stories, not the people playing the part, and Matt’s acting is right on and crazy, so give it a FAIR chance!

Next Episode ‘Victory of the Daleks’ and with Winston Churchill! Wonderful!
